Former Hootsuite Leader Joins Procurify as VP Finance
Bevan van der Berg, the former Senior Director of Business Performance and Analysis at Hootsuite, has joined Procurify as the VP Finance. Procurify is a SaaS spend management solution that manages more than $7 billion of organizational spending for hundreds of fast-growing companies around the world.
Bevan van der Berg’s transition comes after dedicating almost six years to Hootsuite. He worked in a variety of senior financial planning, analysis, and business performance roles. During his time at one of the most successful tech companies in Vancouver, van der Berg helped the company:
- Grow revenue by 5x;
- expand into new markets; and
- shape the strategy for ongoing global growth.
“I’m thrilled to join another successful Vancouver tech company,” says van der Berg. “Procurify has such a clear product-market fit in the current fintech landscape as its finance leader.” On his decision to join Procurify, van der Berg adds, “As companies grow and expand, the focus should always be on the most optimal allocation of resources. Understanding a company’s spend forces you to remove rogue spend and wasted funds. Strategic spend management gives organizations the opportunity to re-allocate these funds to areas. They can then use them to invest and grow the company so that everybody benefits. This is the toolset that Procurify gives its customers and this is why I’m excited to join its leadership team.”
The team at Procurify share excitement and elation
On Bevan’s appointment, Aman Mann, CEO and Cofounder of Procurify, explains:
“We are excited to have Bevan join Procurify. He’ll support us on the journey of making organizational spend smart and simple. Bevan’s experience as a finance business partner is invaluable for us at this stage of our growth. He’s a true advocate of spend management and spend culture. That is the cornerstone of what we live and breathe at Procurify and are trying to advocate to the world. He understands that it’s not simply about cost reductions or limiting budgets, but rather finding opportunities for growth that fuel the business. The fact that Bevan is ready to roll up his sleeves and jump right into the width of the customer journey is a great example of inspiring finance leadership.”
Van der Berg will be responsible for leading the finance team. With a strong focus on streamlining financial operations, he’ll work closely as a finance business partner with marketing, product, and sales.
